Helping others buy and sell real estate has been my professional passion for over 30 years.
In 2004, I was surprised to learn that I was equally passionate about teaching real estate when I began teaching at Johnston Community College. Now I can indulge both my passions at Weichert, Realtors® - Triangle by serving buyers and sellers and by teaching Real Estate at Triangle Real Estate School.
I started my career in 1985 selling luxury home communities and Active Adult communities for a Builder 500 developer. Selling 51 luxury homes in less than 5 weeks with an average price of $393,000 (this was 1985!) is an experience I will never forget.
In 1994 I met an international businessman who tasked me with finding 20 acres on the Cape Fear River with a 5-acre slip and a railroad siding. He had been searching for years and was convinced that it couldn’t be found. As a former Marine, I know how to rise to that kind of challenge. I spent weeks searching for and then speaking to every qualifying parcel owner on the Cape Fear River. Nine months later, the multi-million dollar sale closed.
In 2000, I became Broker-in-Charge in 13 states for the first real estate brokerage in history to be active in all 50 states. I trained the 75 agents how to close for a listing over the phone. It was then that I discovered my passion for teaching and mentoring. Over the years I have sold homes totaling over $60 million. I tell my students, “Ethically and professionally fight for your client’s best interests as if it was your money!”
My wife, Ann and I live in Cary, NC. We are fortunate to have 3 adult sons between us. Although I am two hours from the ocean now, I still enjoy surfing and sailing.
