Money Magazine has included Triangle area towns in the top 25 "BEST PLACES TO LIVE" list for the past 5 consecutive years.  Recognition of the desirabilty to relocate to the Triangle area has been ongoing for more than 25 years.  

The Research Triangle Park (RTP) was created as an area of research, development and manufacturing nestled between the North Carolina cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.  This area was to become a desirable location for companies to combine research development and manufacturing within close proximity of nationally renowned medical facilities and major universities, such as Duke University in Durham NC, North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Additionally, many small universities and schools of higher education were located nearby, as well as, the State Capital of North Carolina (Raleigh) which houses many federal, state and local government agencies.
